About the Event
BIPOC USHR Liberation School is an 8-week course, with one meeting a week, in which we will examine various, decolonial approaches to understanding ourselves and others, with a focus on mental health and well-being. Each week we will discuss a different topic highlighting the many ways in which BIPOC peoples have, and continue to, understand themselves, the world, and their mental health and well-being within those worlds. The course will be led by multiple instructors, including some lectures, as well as activities and discussions.
This cohort is for BIPOC people between the ages of 15 and 29.Â
Classes will be held online once a week, every Saturday between July 8th and August 26th, from 11am to 1pm. Â
Topics will include (tentative schedule):
Week 1: Introduction
Week 2: Latin American/Liberation perspectives
Week 3: Indigenous perspectives
Week 4: Black perspectives
Week 5: Islamic perspectives
